What’s happening now

2024: 14 students received their GYROTONIC® Final Certificate and are now teaching.
2025 cohort is on track: 7 students finished their Foundation course and are on track for apprentice review in Feb and Final certificate course in March. 
2026: We have 4 people ready to start the next cohort with Gyrokinesis pre-training in April and the foundation course in May. 
2026 update: We have 4 people received their GYROTONIC® Final Certificate in March and 2 more finishing in June. 

What we have done so far

To date, BE has invested over $130,000 to make the GYROTONIC® method accessible, welcoming, and affirming to women in the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities. Our 2026 goal is to raise $120,000 to support and provide high-quality GYROTONIC® teacher training at no cost to 20 students. We are confident that with your help, we will be able to meet this goal and deepen our commitment to diversifying the face of the GYROTONIC® method.
  • 2021 – April first cohort of 27 students, 22 from Elements and 4 from NY
  • 2022 – 10 students started their GYROKINESIS® teacher training
  • 2023 – 15 students started their GYROTONIC®  teacher training
  • 2024 – 14 students received their GYROTONIC® Final Certificate and are now teaching.
  • 2025 – 7 students successfully completed their GYROTONIC® Level 1 Foundation Course.
  • 2026 – 4 received their GYROTONIC® Final Certificate and 2 more finishing in June.

Celebrating Success: Highlights from Our Previous Cohort

Our past BE students has made remarkable strides, contributing to the growth of movement and wellness communities across the region and beyond. Here are a few standout achievements:

  • Alease Aubry’s Studio – Located in Tacoma, Washington, Alease’s studio has become a beacon for movement enthusiasts, now offering three scholarships to support accessibility and inclusivity in wellness.
  • Zahra’s Teaching at George Mason University – Zahra has brought the benefits of GYROKINESIS®  to students at George Mason University, integrating movement into academic life.
  • Angela’s Academic Outreach – Angela teaches GYROKINESIS® at both George Washington University and Howard University, fostering wellness and movement in these esteemed academic settings.
