Why Pilates at Elements?

Josef H. Pilates developed his physical fitness system in the early 20th century referred to as “Contrology”. Pilates devised a unique sequence of movements that worked the mind and muscle in harmony. The exercise method creates long, lean muscles without bulk, focusing on the body’s core muscles to support the spine.

Whether you seek Pilates training for healing or for fitness, the major principles are the same:

  • Alignment
  • Breathing
  • Centering
  • Concentration
  • Control
  • Precision
  • Flow or efficiency of movement

Our experienced and nationally certified Pilates team offers a variety of backgrounds and specialties.  The result is a cohesive Pilates team that can meet the wide array of interests and fitness goals of our clientele.  Meet our Pilates team.

Privates & Duos

Pilates can be tailored to fit any client’s fitness and skill levels!  At Elements we specialize in rehabilitative and post-rehab Pilates work, along with Pilates training for athletes.  You’ll run, swim, bike, walk, and play tennis or golf better, faster and healthier with the power of Pilates.

Whether you are an active athlete or a post-rehab client, the benefits are universal.  Together we will work to increase your flexibility and core strength, stay injury free, improve your overall muscular balance, and sculpt your body.

How can Pilates heal? A regular Pilates practice can be especially beneficial for those suffering from back pain.  Issues like lack of core support, pelvic instability, muscular imbalances, poor posture, and lack of body awareness all affect your health. The Pilates method specializes in helping people improve these issues, and so much more!  We’ve used Pilates to support cancer survivors, clients with osteoporosis, and those suffering from complications associated with being overweight.

A private or duo session allows us to work with you independently or with a friend to achieve your unique goals.

Experience the power of gentle transformation through Pilates matwork.  With emphasis on breath and flow, our Pilates Mat class is designed to increase strength and flexibility, open joints to release tension, to improve body awareness, and to ease chronic pain.

In this class you will experience a series of pilates exercises performed on a mat without equipment. Whether you are a beginner or expert this mat workout will strengthen the core, tone the hips and thighs and flatten the abs.

Join us Saturday mornings at 9am to lengthen, realign, and redefine your body.

Please note: We are on a limited summer schedule!  Classes will be held 8/12 and 8/26 before resuming weekly in September.
