FAQs for Elements Center

Will my physical therapy session be covered by insurance?

Coverage and benefits information can only be determined by your provider.  Elements will provide a printed statement for you to submit independently.

Do you accept Medicare?

We accept Medicare Part B only.  You will need to bring a prescription for physical therapy from your doctor as well as your Medicare card to your initial evaluation appointment.  View our Medicare Financial Policy.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment is due at time of service by cash, check, Visa/Mastercard, and Medicare Part B.

What kind of parking is available?

There is a paid parking lot located behind the building.  Elements does not stamp or discount parking.  Zoned street and metered parking is also available on Wisconsin and surrounding side streets.

Are you accessible by public transportation?

Yes!  The closest Metro station is Tenleytown/American University.  Transfer to Metrobus 30, 32, 34, 35, or 36 heading towards downtown.  Get off at the intersection of Wisconsin Ave. and W Pl. NW

What happens if the building is locked and I have a scheduled appointment/class?

The building doors automatically lock at 5:30pm, Monday-Friday and remained locked throughout the weekend.  If you have an evening or weekend session, please call the front desk at 202-333-5252 and we’ll send someone to let you in.

Do you offer gift certificates?

How can I book an appointment?

Appointments and classes can be booked online, in person, or by calling the front desk.  Initial physical therapy evaluations and follow ups must be scheduled over the phone or in-person.  Private sessions for GYROTONIC® exercise and Pilates, along with classes can be booked through our MindBodyOnline system.  View price information by service and practitioner.

How do I get certified to teach GYROTONIC® or GYROKINESIS® exercise?

Lucky for you, we offer a comprehensive training schedule which allows you to complete the program right here at Elements in about 1 year.  Elements Center has 3 on-site Master Trainers and 6 Pre-trainers (in addition to a dedicated team of guest instructors) who hold year round course trainings.  See our Steps to Certification for more information.

Elements Center Policies

Late Cancel Policy:

Elements adheres to a strict cancellation policy.  To cancel a physical therapy appointment (with our PT or PT Aides) you notify the front desk by calling or e-mailing us at least 48 hours before the start of your appointment. Cancellation requests are not confirmed until a member of the Elements team contacts you.

All other appointment types and class reservations are subject to a 24 hour cancellation policy.Cancellations made less than 24 or 48 hours (depending on the appointment type) are subject to full forfeiture of payment or credit.

Excessive Cancellations Policy:

Our practitioners reserve the right to cancel recurring (“standing”) appointment reservations for any client who cancels 3 or more appointments per month without rescheduling within a 2-week period, whether the cancellations are considered “early” or “late”.

Clients should make their practitioner aware of any extensive periods of travel as soon as possible and confirm dates of absence.

Inclement Weather Policy:
Elements will do its best to keep everyone safe yet stay open if possible during severe weather. The choice to see clients will be up to the individual practitioner’s ability to make it safely to the center.

The Late Cancel Policy is void in the event of severe inclement weather.  We want you to base your decision to keep your scheduled appointment on safety, not financial concerns.

If you have not cancelled due to predicted storms and are taking a “wait and see” approach, we will have your practitioner contact you directly the morning of your appointment to either confirm or to reschedule.

Failure to Pay/Collections Policy:

All clients are expected to check in and check out with the front desk to ensure that payments are correctly processed in a timely manner.

Elements does not accept insurance (with the exception of Medicare Part B), and therefore is not financially responsible for any claims denied by insurance, as filed independently by the client, or by clients who surpass their Medicare spending cap.

Any client with an outstanding negative balance for more than 30 days is subject to collections.
